University Officer Scholarships

Studying.
The RNZAF University Officer Scholarships (UOS) commenced in 2008. It gives you the opportunity to get tertiary qualified and earn an income at the same time. You’ll gain invaluable work experience and, at the end of your course of study, you’ll have guaranteed employment. Plus your study is fully sponsored – what could be better than that?

// ABOUT THE UOS

Recruitment for the UOS is by way of a five-day selection board. If you’re successful, you’ll undergo initial officer training (IOTC) at RNZAF Base Woodbourne. You’ll graduate IOTC with Pilot Officer rank and attend Massey University. You can choose from a range of degree options, however, final subject selections will need to be approved by the RNZAF.

You will be paid a salary, accommodation assistance and all university fees will be met by the RNZAF. During the semester breaks you will complete a combination of work experience, motivational training, community service and adventure training.

At the completion of your degree you will gain professional experience in a rewarding and challenging workplace. Your degree will incur a return of service equal to the length of your degree plus one year. During this time you will develop professional and personal skills while adding to the core outputs of the Air Force.
