The RNZAF Reserve is primarily made up of ex-RNZAF Service personnel who will take up a part time role within the organisation.

The RNZAF is currently calling for volunteers for the RNZAF Active Reserve Force (AR-F).

The Air Force is facing one of the most exciting and challenging periods in its history.  We have many projects on at the moment and are seeking people who are able to give their support during this busy period.  This year we are working hard to introduce several new and upgraded aircraft into the fleet, while at the same time undergoing a period of significant organisational change in order to provide effective support to the operational element of the RNZAF.  We will also continue to provide support for the various missions and activities that the New Zealand Defence Force is involved in globally.

In order to continue working at this operational pace, as well as ensure that the upcoming changes will meet our future needs, we are seeking people who are able to help out.  We are particularly interested in people who have been trained in the RNZAF, or are ex-military.  Perhaps you are able to help out for several days each month, or maybe only a few hours every week.  We are keen to hear from you and discuss ways in which you are able to assist us.

We are interested in people across most trades for the Reserve.
We are particularly interested in the following trades: Aircraft and Avionics Technicians, Human Resources Officers, Pilots, Safety and Surface Technicians, Air Security, Air Warfare Specialists, Air Engineers, Air Loadmasters, Flight Stewards, Doctors and Training and Development Officers.

We may also consider  the following trades:  Metal Workers, Machinists, Composite Workers, Suppliers, Medics, Photographers, Fire Fighters and Aviation Refuellers .

Our preference is for ex-Service people, but those without military experience or backgrounds may also register interest for future positions.  You will still need to have the skills and experience necessary to work in the RNZAF though.

If you are ex-RNZAF, or ex-military, and would like to explore the options available in the RNZAF Active Reserve, then click on the link below and fill out your details.  Once you have done this, a Recruiting Officer will be in touch with you to discuss options.

Please note, that to join the RNZAF Reserve you need to be a New Zealand citizen, be able to pass security requirements and meet our medical criteria.
