Description of Video

Good day I’m Corporal Josh Larking I am an S&S technician in the Air Force
At the moment I am working in the parachute bay. My position here as Corporal is to supervise and train new people to come in to the bay, as well as assisting in day to day tasks.

Outside we pack 100 foot diameter about 134 feet long
Main things you need are just to be willing, willing to try.

Everything you need to learn, you learn on the job training. As well as your courses you learn fabric work and repairing parachutes you also learn how to pack parachutes

The basics of them you will learn your techniques, you will learn to you get it right.

Then you move on the life rafts, Life Support equipment on squadrons, helmets for the aircrew and life preservers. After training you will go on to your senior course witch goes on the anther part of our trade aircraft painting.

That will involve striping the aircraft, painting the aircraft. And prepping them, we also do the decals, all the frame work, all the numbers everything that makes an aircraft even better.

Before I joined I was almost going to join the Army straight out of school, I had a look around and could not find anything that was really interesting me

I worked at a petrol station that’s when I meet a few Air Force guys, started seeing what they do. And decided to join up, have not looked back.
