Description of Video
This Avionics technician explains that the initial training expands on what you learn at school. The three month recruit course is followed by a basic engineering course that teaches you the basic skills that anyone working around air crafts needs to know. There is more specialised avionics training after that.
He goes on to say that Avionics at the RNZAF offers more than a job where you just do one thing repeatedly. There is always something different to do.
He talks about career development in his role and explains that he could move into a variety of areas including becoming a Flight Engineer.
He explains that he likes the lifestyle of the Air Force, the structure, the job security, and that you will be looked after throughout your career – as far as you want to take it.
