A Firefighter.
The Air Force would never get off the ground with out our variety of Operational Support trades. You will experience such a range of experiences in these trades as well as the opportunity for travel and adventure. You will become part of some of the best trained people in these roles.

Aviation Refueller

As an Aviation Refueller, you’ll be an important member of the Air Force logistics team. Your main tasks will involve the delivery of aviation fuel, but you’ll also train to drive and operate a wide range of vehicles and machinery.

CIS Technician

Communication and Information Systems Technician. Master some of the world's most sophisticated communications technology and be ready to travel with it throughout the Pacific region, to destinations in the northern hemisphere or even the Antarctic continent.

Fire-Fighter

Welcome to a career that puts you at the heart of the action in today's Air Force. Being a military Fire-fighter is a demanding role, providing fire and rescue services at airfields, on bases and helping prevent fires in rural areas where RNZAF aircraft operate, along with heaps of other responsibilities.

Force Protection

World-class security is essential in today’s Air Force. As a member of our Air Security staff you’ll help protect our personnel and equipment, from looking after the base to providing force protection against sabotage and terrorism.

Intelligence Specialist

As an Intelligence Specialist you’ll contribute to the overall intelligence capability of the New Zealand Defence Force.

Logistics

Our supply chain is vital for making the Air Force run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll help organise, buy and manage all the equipment we use, keeping us ready for any eventuality. It’s a varied and exciting career, and one of the most important roles in the Air Force.

Medic

The medical team is a vital part of the Air Force. As a Medic you’ll be responsible for all aspects of medical care - on the ground and in the air. It’s a demanding role, and you’ll need to be tough and able to keep a cool head in stressful situations.
