Citizenship

To be eligible to join the the New Zealand Defence Force you need to be either:

  • A New Zealand Citizen

  • A permanent New Zealand Resident AND

  • Have lived in New Zealand for at least five years OR

  • Have held citizenship of Australia, Canada, the United States of America or the United Kingdom for at least ten years.
